Under 19s Coaches Report
We had a good week at training and had prepared for a Scoresby team that over the past 4-5 weeks had played some fairly consistent footy. The first 2 quarters were very solid for us with some particular passages of play, among our best for the season. Our back six were terrific, constantly rebounding the ball back into our midfield or long deep into our forward line which has been a particular focus. Credit to Tom Stingell who was matched up on one of the competitions best forwards. Not only did he keep him goalless he had zero influence on the game.
The message at half time was to again turn up in the 3rd and focus playing our way. Enter Sean Giles.
Hit the ball hard, found space and it reflected with him kicking 4 or 5 for the quarter.
The work again in getting the ball forward was due in the main to our boys up the ground and in the midfield who were all very good with their ball use. We had identified as a team the fact that at no stage to this point in the season had we kicked 100 points earlier in the week. This automatically became a focus at 3/4 time. Pleasing was the fact the boys stuck to the task and were able to tick that challenge off during the last quarter. A very solid TEAM effort that every one of the boys should be very proud of. We all know what’s coming next week; let’s ensure we turn up again in the same manner.
Final Score:
Mitcham 17. 10 (112) to Scoresby 3. 7 (25).
Best Players: A great team effort.
Jarrod Moore, Tommy Stingell, Sean Giles, Tim Ross, Brad Heywood, Oscar Messenger.

Reserves Coaches Report
Bouncing back with a win this week was a super effort from the boys, Scoresby had a good side in with a handful of Senior players including their Senior Coach however we are starting to get consistency in our line up similar to what it was early in the season which helps us with our game plan and structures. 1st qtr we had more of the play but couldn’t quite execute on the scoreboard, the 2nd qtr saw them play the better and take a 11 point lead into the halftime break. The 3rd saw us fight back kicking the first 2 of the qtr but to their credit they bounced back to take a 4 point lead heading into the last. We were determined to play our way which we did as we dominated the qtr to kick 4 goals and get the win by 13 points. Our ability and composure with ball I hand was terrific as we also set up well across half back to rebound their entries. Guy Lachlan was our best as shifting him on the ball made a real difference after halftime, DJ in the ruck also was smart to give our mids an advantage, our back 6 was outstanding with Mick Barro leading the way all day, hard and disciplined. Ringwood this week is massive as they sit behind us in 3rd by 2 points, their big ground will suit us but we must play at our best. Great day for the club with 3 wins and a successful Ladies Lunch so well done to all involved.

Senior Coaches Report
This week we hosted Scoresby, a win would pretty much guarantee we played finals so it was an important match for us. We started the game really well taking control around the stoppages and moving the ball quickly to give our forwards some good one on one opportunities, pleasingly we were able to take our chances and we went to the ¼ time break with a 30 point lead.
In the 2nd quarter we dropped off our intensity around the footy and to Scoresby credit they got themselves back into the game reducing the margin to 26 points at half time. The 3rd quarter was an arm wrestle with neither side getting on top, we were able to extend our lead out to 28 points heading into the last quarter. We kicked the first 3 goals of the last quarter to extend our lead, but took the foot off the peddle late in the game to end up with a 22 point win. Jarrod West was outstanding all day around the footy and Jackson Hallo slotted 4 majors up forward. Thanks to everyone who attended the ladies lunch and the past players premiership reunion in what was a big day for the club. We travel out to Ringwood next week in what is another massive game for positioning within the top 4, we hope to see you all out there.
