Two very much needed wins for our Seniors and Reserves this week against the old foe in East Burwood with the unders having the last of their byes. The Seniors won a physical clash with Whitchell, McCubbin, Winterton and Miles all leading the way. The Reserves were made to work hard by the Rams as the younger players again stood up in Raath, Glanville, Foster and McKeown. Congratulations also to our Senior Coach Neil Winterton for being named in the Frankston VFL team of the half century.
NEXT WEEK looms as a BIG day for the club as we host the Mulgrave at home and We also have the SOLD OUT ladies lunch with Samuel Johnson, Dave O’Neil and hosted by EFL Board member Kerry Freer, should be a cracker and make sure you catch Samuel Johnson riding his uni cycle around the ground at half time of the senior game. Good day for us this week to get reward in the way of a win was well deserved for the group who over the past couple of months have really applied themselves in trying circumstances. Even though EB have only won 1 game they showed that they can produce good footy. Once again our conversion in front of goal was poor missing 3-4 opportunities in the first qtr, however we capitalised in the second half with a 5 goal 3rd term to kick away and held onto that lead to win by 6 goals. Danger was super kicking a couple and bringing others into the game, his speed and decision making clearly had an impact, Fos once more showed consistent form and Brad across CHB was also solid all day. Our ruck Nails and on ballers led by Beags really dominated the clearances. Great to get back on the winners list and I know the boys are pumped to get another this week against Mulgrave. Thanks to all the supporters on Saturday another great turn out by them, much appreciated.

This week we faced East Burwood in what had the potential to be a danger game. We had be playing some good footy over the last month and we couldn't fall into the trap of thinking we could just turn up and get the win. Unfortunately we didn't come 100% switched on and to East Burwoods credit they served it right up to us. In what was a scrappy game we played some good periods of footy but couldn't maintain that for long enough to develop a comfortable lead at any stage. We had to fight hard for 4 quarters but in the end we were able to come away with the win. Chris Whitchell continued his recent super form and Daniel Johnson was super down back as well. Thanks to everyone who came out this week, we look forward to seeing you all again next week for our last home game of the season. Congratulations also to the under 17s and under 11s on making the grand final next week a terrific effort and we wish you the best of luck as the Senior club is right behind you
