In the final round of the season, the Tigers needed to contend with the competition's longest road trip to Port Macquarie to take on the Magpies who had been unbeaten at home since the Tigers last visit in round 3 last year, however it proved too much for minor premiers with Port Macquarie winning 78-64 at Wayne Richards Park.
Neither side gave an inch in the first half and went to the break with the Magpies leading by only one point.
Grafton put the foot down in the third kicking four goals to take a 62-48 lead into the fourth quarter however at the Tiger's dismay everything just unraveled in the final stanza.
Limited to only two behinds for the entire final 25 minutes the Tigers looked a shadow of its former self as the Pies delivered an inspired performance to snatch an unlikely win.
