As President of the the Oceania Committee of Associated Wrestling Styles (OCAWS), Tarkong represented their members at the ONOC / OSFO Meeting in Nadi, Fiji. He was able to meet with a number of NOC’s, Sports Federations, ONOC and other participants at the ONOC / OSFO Meeting to discuss and promote our sport. Numerous presentations on Solidarity Funding and Programs were made available to the participants. Discussions and major concerns were raised on the eligibility rules for the South Pacific Games Charter and how it should be changed or improved.
A display table was set up by the Sports Federations for NOC’s and other participants to meet with many of the sports. Tarkong set up a table for wrestling and met with a number of NOC's interested in developing wrestling in their countries. Some of the countries raised concerns how they would need assistance from to jump start their program (coaching assistance, mat, etc). At the same time, a number of presentations were held throughout the day. OSFO members were encouraged to continue to meet, discuss and promote their sport. Numerous presentations were held that covered areas of Olympic funding, coaching / athlete development, administration, training, anti-doping, Beijing Olympic Games, and othe programs.
Tarkong provided a report to OSFO / ONOC on 2007 Wrestling activities by members. As to date, the Oceania region has 13 member countries.
