Florian Skilang Temengil dominated the mens heavyweight division in the 125kg Freestyle Mens Division on Day #1 of the competiton. Temengil was able to retain his title in the finals against his opponent Param Pal Singh from Australia with takedowns to eventually win the match by 10-0 technical. Earlier that day, he also won his matches against Marcus Carney (silver medal) of New Zealand and also Tane Howe of New Zealand. French Polynesia won bronze and also Howe of NZL.
The other athlete to win Gold was Blesam Tarkong who defeated his opponents from Australia and American Samoa in the mens seniors 65kg division. Blesam also wrestled in the junior division but lost to Australia who won gold, Blesam silver and NZL bronze.
Cristian Etpison Nicolescu also won silver medal in the 61kg mens freestyle senior division. He defeated his opponent from Australia and American Samoa, but lost in the finals to Ethan Aguigui of Guam who won gold and Cristian silver.
