The rowing competition at the Games will be conducted under the auspices, rules and regulations of the International Rowing Federation (FISA). The competition will also conform to any special requirements of the International Masters Games Association (IMGA).
Rowing Victoria will conduct the rowing competition using FISA and Rowing Australia boat race officials.

Regulations.
This regatta will be conducted under FISA regulations
A rower may compete as a Masters rower from the beginning of the year during which he/she reaches the age of 27.
Under these regulations a year is a calendar year from January 1 to December 31.
Minimum age for any competitor, other than a coxswain, is 27 years.
Age categories for crews are:
A average age 27 years to less than 36 years.
B average age 36 years to less than 43 years
C average age 43 years to less than 50 years.
D average age 50 years to less than 55 years.
E average age 55 years to less than 60 years.
F average age 60 years to less than 65 years.
G average age 65 years to less than 70 years.
H average age 70 years and over.
Competition Notes
All competitors must be able to show official documentation to prove their age. (Passport preferred or Australian drivers licence.)
Mixed crews, excluding the coxswain who can be of either sex, must have equal numbers of men and women.
Races will be conducted if entries are received for crews with an average age of 75 or over.
A Masters rower is placed in the age category corresponding to the age that he or she attains during the current year and the age category for a crew is the average age for the members of the crew excluding the coxswain.
Female coxswains will be permitted in male crews and vice versa.
Each competitor will be responsible for their own health and fitness.
All members of any crew must wear the same uniforms. This requirement does not apply to Sundays mixed races.
Crew substitutions and Withdrawals
Fifty percent of the members of a crew can be substituted. However all changes must be notified to the Regatta Secretary on official substitution forms at least 30 minutes prior to the first race of that crew.
Bow numbers
Bow numbers must be displayed on every boat competing in a race. Bow numbers will be available for a A$10.00 refundable deposit from the bow numbers marquee.
