About the Venue
St. Kilda Beach is located 7km from Melbourne's Central Business District and is easily accessible via public transport.
The Beach at St Kilda is a delightful cosmopolitan waterfront playground that comes to life during the warmer months. St Kilda Beach is regularly used for state and international beach volleyball tournaments.
Six courts will be used, including a Centre (Show) Court.
Facilities
Change Rooms: Temporary set up for men and women
Toilets: Available at the St Kilda Sea baths.
Seating: 300 for Centre Court
Kiosk Facilities: Cafes and shops nearby
Sport Equipment
Mikasa VLS200 brand Beach Volleyballs will be used.
Competition Standards
The Beach Volleyball competition at the Melbourne 2005 Deaflympics Games will be run under the rules and auspices of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and DEAFLYMPICS.
Warm Up Facilities
There will be two warm-up courts for teams to warm up prior to competition.
Official Pre-Games Training
2 - 5 January 2005. Refer to the Pre Games Training Overview included in this handbook.
Countries are required to bring their own volleyball balls - no balls will be provided for Pre-Games Training.
Games Time Training
Limited availability across the six volleyball courts (4 competition and 2 warm-up) for Games Time Training. Further details will be distributed.

Assistive Devices
There will be no assistive devices for Beach Volleyball.
