About The Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre
The Melbourne 2005 Deaflympic Games Swimming Competition will take place at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC). MSAC is an international sporting venue, and is one of the only integrated sports and leisure complex of its type in Australia. The venue will host up to eight sports during the Melbourne 2005 Deaflympics Games, allowing competitors and visitors to get a taste of some of the other sports being contested without having to travel too far.
The Multi Purpose pool has permanent seating for 1500+ people. The Olympic sized 10 lane 50 metres competition pool is heated to 27 degrees Celsius.
The centre also includes a multitude of other facilities, including a fully equipped gymnasium, sport medicine clinic, a first aid room, sauna, spa, cafe/bistro and various sports shops.

Competition Standards
The Swimming competition at the Melbourne 2005 Deaflympics will be run under the rules and auspices of the Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA), and the DEAFLYMPICS.
Warm Up Facilities
The competition pool will be available for warm up prior to the competition.
